Mohawk: Horses to watch from Oct. 13 - Oct. 18

Ken Walters|Oct 19, 2016

Thursday, October 13

JIMBELINA (NW2FM) sat pocket, cleared late but closed willingly.

BARBARAS SHADOW (NW2FM) rallied inside, closed strongest but had far to come in last.

SUNSET FILLY (NW1/2-3YOF) broke at the start, recovered far back, followed wide in the final turn and closed in gamely but it was too much to ask.

JLS BAD MOON RISIN (NW2) had to weave through stretch traffic in latest and got in very tight nearing the wire.

Friday, October 14

TERROR HALL L (NW3) was parked the mile uncovered, challenged hard and tired. A better trip could be all that is needed.

BIG TSUNAMI (NW1000FM) left well, took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, cleared stretch traffic too late and will be tough to beat in next.

MARQUIS VOLO (NW3) closed well from a bad spot. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

SAYITALL BB (PRF/FM) had the most pace in the lane but the least amount of room and can get it done with a little luck.

Saturday, October 15

ALEXAS JACKPOT (NW15000) rolled down the road and can take another.

POISONOUS (NW5) was going to have to close strong but was wiped out in the final turn racing third over in latest and earns another look in next outing.

MASS PRODUCTION (OntSS) moved around breakers to gain the lead and never looked back in OntSS record setting score.

BAD AS LEADER (OntSS) cleared late with good finish and might have won if she had found room earlier.

Monday, October 17

DOCS DIVA (NW3000FM) set the pace under pressure from the odds-on favorite and dug in gamely to earn second best and a long look in next.

HIGHLAND TARTAN (CLMHCP15/18000) was parked to a tuck, got a shuffle, pulled in the final turn 3rd over, and rallied with good pace.

MOSTINTERESTINGMAN (NW2) had far to come but flashed some strong stretch trot and has to be considered in next race or two.

HILARIOUS HERO (NW1) left well, took the lead, yielded, got shuffled when the winning favorite brushed, pulled passing the third panel and rallied gamely but just missed.

Tuesday, October 18

LADY JEN (CLMHCP8/10000FM) closed strongly in wide flow and earns long look in next.

AMERICAN ROCK (CLMHCP10/12000) wired the field in variant busting effort and should take another.

MR IRRESISTABLE (CLM15000) won for fun on the front end and will be tough to catch in next outing.

TANGO STAR (NW2) took the lead, yielded for the pocket, pulled to the third panel, challenged and rolled by impressively.

TEA WITH MS MCGILL (CLM8000) charged home from the moon only to run out of track in latest effort.
