Ken Walters|Jun 06, 2012

(Thursday, May 31)

THE MAGIC OF PARIS (OntS) Left to the top, yielded and was shuffled, got backed up going around the breaking pocket horse, rallied gamely to get up for second to he short priced favorite.

DOCS HOPE (NW1FM) Stormed home to fly by the favorite in the late stages and should be able to take another.

CEDAR DOVE (PRF/FM) Beaten favorite followed wide from the back, fanned widest, finished gamely but had just a bit too far to come.

UNRED HANOVER (NW2FM) Got stuck third over in a very slow flow and the winner got away. Beaten favorite closed strongly to down the rest and should be hard to beat in next.

(Friday, June 1)

RUB N TUG (NW15500FM) Beaten fave left well, took the top, faced early pressure, refused to yield, put the threat away, faced the winner's pressure the last quarter, gutted out second and could atone in next race or two.

CARSONS MAVERICK (NW5000FM) Left, got parked for her life, challenged uncovered to the third marker and packed it in.

KING PETE (CLM12/15000) Got away slowly from the pole, trailed throughout and rushed home. Has the move but needs a better trip.

BIG MCDEAL (NW15500FM) Rallied gamely between horses to just miss. Beaten favorite has to get more involved earlier.

(Saturday, June 2)

MIKEY HANOVER (NW3) Powered by at short odds from second over and should take another.

DADDY MAC (NW8000) Got stuck in the pocket, searched early stretch, found an inside route but it was too late.

DALHOUSIE DAVE (PRF) The second favorite, he left and was parked, challenged the favorite hard all the way to late stages before faltering in death battle where two longshots picked up the moola.

P L EARL (CLMHCP20/30000) Made a bold uncovered move to the final turn, took the lead in the slop as he carried wide heading home, flattened but dug in bravely to battle the favorite to the wire.

(Monday, June 4)

TREND SPOTTER (NW3) Left well to the top, set the pace under constant pressure from the parked out favorite, battled to the end over the tiring oval and held all but the fresh second over winner.

ZEUS LIGHTNING (NW16000) Trotter was parked for life from the outside in last, pressed the pace to the lane, held gamely to the deep stretch.

SAFE HARBOR (NW3) Went down the road on a night when speed was folding and held gamely. Should be able to take another in next race or two.

POP COP (NW2) Second favorite on the board and second best at the end; this one made the brush to take control passing the half but was unable to hold the favorite over the tiring track.
