Mohawk: Horses to watch from May 14 - May 18

Ken Walters|May 20, 2015

Thursday, May 14

BUSINESS AS USUAL (NW2FM) well trained miss came wide with strong finish in last to nail it on the wire and looms as tough to beat in foreseeable future.

TYMAL SIGNATURE (NW2/3YOF) wired the field wrapped up in last and looms as possible repeat winner.

TYLMAL COLOSSUS (CLMHCP12/15000) tucked early, moved strongly uncovered past the half, challenged to the lane, took the lead but was unable to stall the tough favorite's late foot.

BETTY AND THE JETS (NW1FM) rushed to the lead from post 10 and never looked back.

Friday, May 15

ALL CHOCOLATE (CLMHCP10/15000FM) was parked the mile, gained cover 4th over, came wide to the third panel, cleared, challenged and was gamely second best. Beaten favorite can atone.

MYSTERY BET (NW2) stormed home with awesome rally to win going away at 74-1 in last and can beat better with less.

LIGHTS GO OUT (NW6000FM) charged gamely to the wire but had too far to come in last.

THE TRAVELER (NW4000) was easy second best in last and can get a share with any kind of trip.

Saturday, May 16

MELMERBY BEACH (NW13500) was an impressive wire to wire winner in last putting the track variant to shame in the process.

PRINCE CLYDE (NW4000) came up a neck short on the wire in down the road effort under last quarter pressure as the much fresher prohibitive favorite rallied from second over to gain the nod in the last steps.

NICKLE BAG (PRF) is alway ready to give a good accounting of himself and rallied well from 4th over to get a chunk of the pie. He is never out of it.

ADVERSITY (NW12000) closed a ton to put the co-favorite in his place--second.

Monday, May 18

BIG MOMENT (NW2) was second over and game to the end battling the two favorites to the wire.

CHEYENNE REIDER (CLMHCP20/30000) closed a ton to win going away and should be able to take another.

BAGS FOR ALL (NW4) was an impressive second in last with game effort at 17-1 and earns respect for next outing.

SPLIT THE HOUSE (NW2) made a huge rally in last to take home top prize and can not be discounted when looking for repeat winners.
