Mohawk: Horses to watch from June 9 to June 13

Ken Walters|Jun 17, 2015

Tuesday, June 9

FLEXIBLE WOMAN (NW4000) finished with good trot but had too much ground to make up after an early break.

SETANTA (NW1/3YO) went down the road in easy fashion leaving plenty for next effort.

JOSEPH GERARD (CLMHCP12/15000) wired the field impressively and seems like a probable repeat winner.

I WANNA BE GEARED (CLMHCP8/10000) was third over and far back in the final turn, finished with strong pace at 58-1 for second and obviously cannot be ignored in next.

Thursday, June 11

WANDA BAYAMA (NW2FM) brushed to the lead in the final turn, tired in the lane. Better timed move may get it done.

INVEST IN ART (NW2FM) followed good cover in the final turn, had aim in late stages but was nailed by the fresher winner. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

SUMTHINTOTALKABOUT (NW2/3YOF) came wide into the lane, kept coming gamely but the winner was a few steps too far ahead to catch.

ALEXAS HOPE (CLM15000FM) had too far to come following wide into the lane, hit her best stride too late and was gaining in the last steps.

TAILWIND HANOVER (NW1/3YOF) raced uncovered, rallied gamely and all out but the pocket horse had the step heading home.

Friday, June 12

CANEPA HANOVER (GOODTIMES) jogged in absolute laugher for the Takter-Gingras Goodtimes show of strength.

FRENCH LAUNDRY (GOODTIMES) brushed and crushed in impressive effort in his Goodtimes elimination for same combo paling only in comparison to his stablemate's romp.

CALL ME MAYBE (NW2FM) closed a ton to win going away and should win another one.

IN SECRET (NW2) took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, sat in tight quarters heading home, seemed to have trot, lacked room and was knocked off stride as the pocket horse drifted a bit while also searching for room.

THINKOFAGAMEPLAN (NW2) sat in, saved ground, found room between horses with strong finish as the tiring winner shortened stride.

Saturday, June 13

HES A SENSATION (NW13000) followed the wide flow in the final turn and closed well but had too far to come.

BUCKEROO (NW3) came home with good pace at 16-1 and can get it all with right trip.

WAZZUP WAZZUP (NW5100) wired the field proving to be best on the board and on the track.

PISTON BROKE (NW20000) closed late and seems able to get it done in near future.
