Mohawk: Horses to watch from June 12 - June 16

Ken Walters|Jun 18, 2014

Thursday, June 12

CAVIART GRIFFIN (NW1/3YO) made a long game rally from nowhere in last and finished second best to the favorite.

PAIN IN THE GLASS (NW1/3YO) did pretty much the same thing at 10-1 but the 100-1 winner had gotten away.

PRICEVALLEY ESPOIR (NW2) left, tucked, brushed to the lead, took it to the wire at 14-1 but was nailed by a second-over closer.

NARCIAN JEWEL (NW1/3YOF) saved to the final turn, slipped out fourth over, tipped widest and came home determinedly but it was too far to come.

Friday, June 13

BOAT HOUSE ROW (NW13000FM) was used to the lead, set a pressed pace on a night when speed was in trouble and tired at 80-1.

MOMENT TO CHERISH (CLM8000FM) was parked the mile, challenged uncovered to the final turn and gave way.

TRAMA UNIT (NW4000FM) followed the short priced favored winner's cover with good finish and should find a field of her own soon.

ALIBI SEELTER (NW3FM) closed a ton and won for fun. Should step up and win again.

Saturday, June 14

JDS CALEB MAN (CLMHCP15/20000) rallied through the lane like a runaway freight train from a distant fourth over in most recent.

UP THE CREDIT (NW5200) put in an amazing winning effort in last. Parked to the top, he faced pressure from a parked out horse, put that one away, faced more pressure from another determined foe, put that one away then held off the late urgings of the tripped out pocket sitter.

DREAMFAIR ECLIPSE (NW7500FM) sat to the rear, slipped between horses in the lane and finish strong and game for second.

Monday, June 16

ZEUS LIGHTNING (NW8000) was absolutely buried to the lane, slid neatly to the outside, set down and closed a ton but too late.

BUDDHA BLUE CHIP (NW3) sat in the pocket through the stretch ready, willing and able but had no room.

MAJESTIC GINGER (NW2) went down the road and was much the best in most recent.
