Mohawk: Horses to watch from July 18 - July 22

Ken Walters|Jul 24, 2013

Thursday, July 18

LIFE SIGNATURE (20000CLM) Came up a game half lenghth short in last. Left, took the top, yielded, retook, yielded again, sat pocket, rallied gamely in the lane but was outfinished by a fresher horse.

OK FABULOUS (NW2) Got to the the engine passing the quarter, met third panel pressure, dug in gamely but could not last. Beaten favorite was taken down by the tiring track and game rally of the pocketsitting second choice. Seems able to atone in next race or two.

TEX (NW1) Put in a game effort in last. Parked the mile uncovered, he challenged all the way, seemed to weakened in mid lane but restoked the gameness fire and rallied back to just miss two noses in impressive style.

WARHORSE (NW1) Sat pocket and cleared a step too late. Should be along in time next outing.

Friday, July 19

BOAT HOUSE ROW (NW8000FM) Finished very wide in last and just missed at 45-1. Has what it takes with right trip.

TRAMA UNIT (NW3FM) Had no shot from back of the pack at 80-1 but closed a ton to miss less than a length.

FERRARI SENA (NW15000FM) Sat in the pocket searching for room, angled out, perhaps a bit too impatiently, found a route and closed well could only chase the winner home.

MEANMADDY (NW2FM) Proved gamest to the wire in an uncovered victory in last and can take a another.

Saturday, July 20

FLANAGAN MEMORY (NW4) Was second best on the board and on the track in last but should find a field to best in next race or two.

PISTON BROKE (NW14500) Won impressively in last two move victory and seems capable to taking another.

ASTOR (NW14500) Made a good rally coming wide through the lane to chased the odds-on favorite home.

ROAR (NW3) Rushed up uncovered, took the lead and proved best at $.25 to the dollar leaving the distinct impression another win is in order.

Monday, July 22

CATALEA SEELSTER (OntSS) Sprouted wings too late to menace but was coming fast in her Grassroots division.

DANCEHALL MISTRESS (NW13000) Closed in :26.4 last time and has to be respected in next race or two.

EMERALD LEXUS (NW5000) Closed well from too far back in last coming wide to clear poor cover passing the three-quarters.

CATCH THE DREAM (NW8000) Granted the win was from the rail on the front end but seemed to have plenty left cruising to the wire in last.
