Mohawk: Horses To Watch for July 12 - July 16

Ken Walters|Jul 18, 2012

Thursday, July 12

EVENIN OF PLEASRE (2YO) Finished well from the back of the pack and should be a winner soon judging by the :26.3 last panel.

GILLA DREAM (CLM10000FM) Closed fastest of all but was a neck too late at the wire.

MCBUNNY (NW1FM) Sat in to the lane, angled out, set down, revved it up and outkicked them all to the wire in rousing finish.

WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN (CLM10000) Was 4th over into the lane with good finish but the winner had the mump on him. Beaten favorite should be able to atone.

Friday, July 13

LOVE N LINDY (NW2) Tucked, sat in, angled out, closed strongly but a little too late. Can correct that in next race or two.

LUCKY JOURNAL (2YO) Closed gamely only to be nailed by the short priced favorite. Should be along in time soon.

THATLL BE FRANNY (NW13500FM) She finished full of pace from the back of the pack but the winner had gotten away.

RED STAR HANNAH (NW5000FM) Sat in traffic and deserved a better fate than the 8th place finish indicated.

Saturday, July 14

CATCH THE DREAM (NW8000) rallied gamely at 28-1 to finish second to the favorite and will be heard from again.

EIGHTEEN (PRF) Left and was parked as the field bunched up early, had nowhere to go, continued on the rim uncovered, prompted the pace to the stretch and tired.

LOST IN PANSLATION (CLMHCP20/25000) Followed wide from fourth over going to the third panel to clear a stalled horse, hit his best stride too late to overcome the trip.

HIGH DEF Z TAM (NW5000) Made a wicked move brushing to the lead, got away from all but the favored winner and earns his kudos next race or two.

Monday, July 16

CALIPARI (NW13000) Finished up on the far, far outside closing stoutly on a speed favoring evening.

MACHAL ANGELO (OntS) Got the royal shuffle in last and lost any chance. Failed to strike up a rally in the lane but had lost his momentum.

NORTHERN ESCORT (NW3) Was victimized by a shuffle behind a dead piece. He did manage to rally fastest of all once into the lane as the leaders tired.

VISIBLE GOLD (NW2) Charged home to win going away outkicking the favorite in the process and can take another.
