Mohawk: Horses to watch from August 10 - August 15

Ken Walters|Aug 17, 2015

Monday, August 10

MASS RAIL (OntSS) closed well at 36-1 and just missed.

FORK (NW7500) closed from the moon in last and ran out of track.

MARKET STRIKE (OntSS) put in a strong down the road effort in last and earns a long look for quick revenge.

WORLD CLASS IZZY (OntSS) was nowhere to be seen heading home but finished full of trot to earn second best at 37-1 in last.

Tuesday, August 11

RACING HILL (NW15000/2YO) lived up to the hype in totally wrapped-up romp last time.

A MARCOU STORY (NW2) self destructed after the start, righted and began a long arduous trip finished best of all but the beaten favorite will have to wait to next week to show his best.

ABSOLUTELY OFFICIAL (NW2) was strangled most of the way as he sat raging with enthusiasm, finally got room inside in the lane but was outkicked. Do not ignore, he wore himself battling his driver.

MUSCLES FOR LIFE (OntSS) was moving fast at the end and ran out of track. If the pace suits, he can get it done soon.

Thursday, August 13

MY MY HEY HEY (NW1/2-3YO) was much the best in last and will be hard to beat in next.

HILLSONATOR (NW2) left, tucked, tipped, brushed, crushed. Seemed to have plenty left to try again in next.

SO RAVEN (NW1/3YOF) put in a game uncovered effort in last and was nipped on the wire. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

WHO DEY (CLMHCP8/10000) graned speed was faltering that night but this beaten favorite was buried to lane, tipped, rallied strong through traffic but the second choice winner was long gone.

Friday, August 14

NOT DEPRESSED (NW9000/2YOF) beaten favorite was beaten once the speedy ones got away to bit lead, tipped and rallied well finishing determinedly but had lost it earlier. Can turn it around if she gets going earlier.

J HIGH (NW3000FM) closed a ton but steps too late.

NORTHERN STARLET (OntSS) rallied fast between horses, took a funky step, settled and continued in awesome finish.

GRANA PADANNO (NW2) made a solid down the road effort under stern pressure and stayed to the final steps.

Saturday, August 15

MAJOR HOMER (NW13000) had far to come but kept coming and nearly got there at 36-1.

CAL CHIPS BROTHER (NW4000) rallied from too far back but trotted strongest through the lane.

SHAMBALLA (PRF) unleashed a deadly rally gobbling up foes through the stretch in last. Should continue to rack up wins.

MIKES POWERHOUSE (NW2) put in a game front-stepping effort over a fast but tiring track and was necked in the last steps. No reason to think he cannot hold on for the win in near future.
