Mohawk: Horses to watch from Aug. 31 - Sept. 5

Ken Walters|Sep 07, 2015

Monday, August 31

BOTTOM DEALS (NW1/2YO) left, took the lead, yielded, pulled to challenge the last quarter and tired heading home. Should be tighter as he goes along.

WHITE BECOMSE HER (NW12000) put in a game down the road effort over a tiring track and missed by only a nose.

INSPIRATION VIEW (OntSS) tucked early, pulled early, brushed to the top, set the pace and won impressively.

DAYLIGHT RUSH (OntSS) came from the back at 23-1 to be second to top one in last.

Tuesday, September 1

BAD LIGHTING (OntSS) closed well coming wide chasing the favorite home and should go well in next.

CHOSEN HOMBRE (NW4000) found his stride heading home and roared through the stretch at a whopping 64-1 and it will be no surprise if he takes another.

P L INDYANACA (NW1/2-3YO) won going away crushing the favorite in the process and looms as a candiate for a repeat victory.

SABINE PASS (NW1/3YO) closed well from third over but was headed by the quick footed winner. Beaten favorite can atone with right trip.

Thursday, September 3

MY MY HEY HEY (NW2) closed strongest coming wide around poor cover but the winner had gotten away. Beaten favorite can turn it around quickly.

HIGH HEELS (Champlain) was badly shuffled losing any chance of the upset but scorched the stretch with quick finish.

ARSENIC (NW2/2YO) proved to be pure poison...rallied fast and strong to down the "almost home free" favorite.

SHOW BIZ HALL (NW2) yielded, retook and never looked back in convincing score last time out looking like he had plenty left to take another.

Friday, September 4

RIDE AWAY SHARK (NW3FM) challenged uncovered a long way, wore down the speed but was outkicked by the tripped-out pocket sitter.

ST LADS PENNY LANE (NW6000FM) came wide and closed gamely but was outfinished by late rush of fresher foe.

MILEYS BID WORLD (NW9000FM) closed well from second over and should put it together soon.

BRESCIA SEELSTER (NW3000FM) was parked the mile, challenged the last three eighths and was a solid second best to the speed.

Saturday, September 5

VEGAS ROCKS (NW2) went down the road in easy score. What are the odds he repeats?

PUSH BACK (NW13000) went down the road to the last step and can be tight enough in next.

FOILED AGAIN (CanPacingDerby) was parked the mile, challenged hard and tired. Vet will find victory facing own kind.

CZAR SEELSTER (NW7500) sat in,angled out too late to launch best rally but closed stoutly.

BETTOREVER (NW20000) ducked quickly to the rail heading home, revved up and closed strong in tight quarters for game 2nd.
