Mohawk: Horses to watch from Aug. 17 - Aug. 22

Ken Walters|Aug 24, 2017

Thursday, August 17

OUTLAW GUNPOWDER (CLMHCP10/12000) sat in and rallied all out and gamely through the lane.

MUSCLE HIGH (NW2) beaten favorite got in trouble at the start, running into a foe and breaking, rallied from far back through the lane and should get it done soon.

GOLD STAR DIABLO (2YO) looked like he wanted to go throughout, saved to the lane, angled out and closed powerfully.

LIVELY FREDDIE (CLM15000) was parked to the lead, set a pressed pace and held well.

Friday, August 18

OSBORNE SEELSTER (NW2) put in a solid down the road effort at 33-1 but was nailed in the last steps.

MISTY DE VIE (NW3FM) was in traffic in the lane but finished well once she found some room.

MACH DEJA VU (NW3) tucked, brushed to command to the half and rolled away.

WITH DALI (NW26000FM) tucked past the quarter and closed gamely to be second best at 14-1 in last outing.

Saturday, August 19

PERCY BLUECHIP (OntSS) took the lead, yielded, retook and proved to be much the best.

MAJOR HILL (NW24000) rallied late and gamely between horses in quick last panel at 60-1 and should not be overlooked.

SHADOW MARGEAUX (NW14000) finished full of pace but was buried to the lane and can be a winner with better trip.

THINK ON IT (NW6) tucked early, pulled to the half, challenged to the favorite and dug in gamely but was nipped by the lane rush of the well bet second choice.

Monday, August 21

OUREA NOURRIR (NW2500) followed wide and roared home but missed by a half. Beaten favorite can atone.

LATE SHIFT (NW1) rallied stoutly fromm 4th over and just missed catching the tripped-out winner.

BAROCKEY (NW6900FM) proved second best at 5-1 on front end in last and can get the win if tighter for next.

SMOKE MONKEY (NW4000) was easily best in front end romp and can do it again.

Tuesday. August 22

SNAPPY DRESSER (OntS) closed well from far back 4th over and would be no surprise.

FREDDY BEAR (NW2) closed in a quick :27 2/5 from an impossible spot in most recent.

WINTER HARBOR (NW6) wired the field on a night when speed was failing and earns look in next.

DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE (NW2FM) was parked, grinded up, gained cover, went wide and continued with game pace to nail the win on the wire.

FINISH LINE (NW13000) set the pace under pressure and held gamely but could not last. Can do it over a better suited track.
