Mohawk: Horses to watch from Apr. 7 - Apr. 11

Ken Walters|Apr 14, 2016

Thursday, April 7

SUMMAJESTIC (NW1) in a race with numberous lead changes, this youngster put them all away with monster stretch rally at 20-1.

PRINCESS KATIE (CLM15000FM) tucked from post 10, brushed, opened up and held on well. Winning favorite can take another.

APRIL BREEZE ON BY (NW2) put in a good front-stepping effort but tired late and was nipped on the wire. Beaten odds-on favorite should be tighter in next.

WHISPER WELL (NW1FM) yielded, sat pocket, pulled at the third panel and cruised by easily.

Friday, April 8

KATIES BEACH (NW2FM) sat in, got shuffled and buried in the final turn, rallied well up the inside but has lost her chance.

MARQUISE DE SARAH (NW6300FM) closed a ton to win going away as the odds-on favorite and it would be no surprise if she takes another.

WITCH DALI (PRFFM) went down the road facing stablemate's last quarter pressure, dug in but was thwarted by the tripped out pocket sitting winner.

WAR FILLY (NW3000FM) rushed home from the back of the pack but had a step too much to make up.

WHISTYS PARADISE (CLMHCP8/10000FM) closed strong from the moon but the beaten favorite had much to far to come. She got claimed and should not be ignored.

Saturday, April 9

SHIPPEN OUT (CLM25000) wired the field gamely on a night when speed was failing and earns long look off that effort.

NICKLE BAG (PRF) gave it the good old try in last digging gamely in front end effort. Beaten favorite can get revenge in next over a more favorable track.

MUSICAL RHYTHM (MILLS) was an impressive wire to wire winner in first round action and looms as one to beat.

GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE (NW7000) left, took the top, yielded for the pocket, pulled near the third panel, battled and held well but the fast closing winner was too much.

Monday, April 11

BAGS FOR ALL (NW20000) was parked the mile, challenged the pace, gutted it out but tired.

ROCKABELLA (CLMHCP12/18000) put in a gallant parked the mile effort challenging the pacesetting favorite but faltered in the late stages.

HLDONTGHTTTOYURDRMS (PRF) flashed strong late trot coming wide through the lane but had too far to come.

PERFECT VISTA (NW2) roared home very wide and very fast to win going away.
