Mohawk: Horses to watch from Apr. 27 - May 1

Ken Walters|May 03, 2017

Thursday, April 27

LITTLE HANOVER (NW1FM) left to the top, rolled along and proved the best and could take another.

ITSALLABOUTTHEBASS (CLM15000FM) followed wide, closed strong, had the lead in the stretch but was nailed by the bigger rush of the winner.

OUTLAW GUNPOWDER (CLMHCP10/12000) tucked to the quarter, got shuffled back, tipped to the third panel and made a huge rally to earn the win.

SOUTHWIND DIESEL (NW2) wired the field impressively and should be hard to stop in next.

Friday, April 28

KAYS SHADOW (NW3000FM) trailed to the lane, slipped wide and closed a ton but it was too much to ask.

GIRL DRAMA (CLMHCP12/15000) finished powerfully to nail the win in the last steps and has to be considered for a repeat.

MAJESTIC PRESENCE (NW4000) was out a long way, grinded to the lead by headstretch and drew away impressively.

WIGGLE IT J (NW3000FM) was parked to the lead, put away pressure early stretch to earn the win.

Saturday, April 29

JINS SHARK (NW14000) pulled past the half, brushed and crushed and should go well again.

MIGHTY NICKY (NW3) well trained trotter tucked, let the speed settle, pulled, brushed and proved an easy winner.

SINTRA (NW29000) pulled to the half, rushed boldly to the lead and scooted away leaving some for next with wrapped-up finish.

FOOL ME ONCE (NW9000) took an early seat on the rail, pulled to the half, rushed up, took the lead and drew away for the impressive victory.

Monday, May 1

BUSTINGATTHESEAMS (NW1) took the lead, yielded for the early pocket, got shuffled, came uncovered at 40-1 and made a game second move but was outkicked.

REBELLIOUS (NW1) pulled when the speed settled, brushed and crushed in good time to put a serious dent in the variant.

MYSTERY BET (NW8000) closed strongly from the back but the beaten favorite could not get there. Can atone quickly with better trip.

MAJOR ATHENS (NW20000) left, got looped to the top, tucked under a hold, pulled when the pace settled, brushed and crushed and should take another or two.
