Mohawk: Friday 9/20 Analysis

Jeremey Day|Sep 18, 2013

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: HARPER BLUE CHIP (2nd)

Spot Play: CREAMPUFF MACDADDY (3rd)

Race 1

(6) DEWEYKEEPUMNWHY went head to head against the best 2-year-old in the country last out and should find this field much easier. (8) MASSIVE TALENT has exactly that but not yet reached his potential. The freshman trotter will offer a huge price and has a legitimate chance in the field. (1) ENTRANCED lightly raced trotter draws the rail and just needs to mind his manners for a piece.

Race 2

(3) HARPER BLUE CHIP has put in some huge efforts recently and looks to be a winner with a smooth trip; short price. (7) MUSCLE MATTERS well bred 2-year-old is in tough but does have the talent to step up. (6) AGGRESSIVE gelding has shown a good burst of speed in a few of his starts; threat.

Race 3

In a fairly wide open race (1) CREAMPUFF MACDADDY was roughed up last out but had been on a roll prior and should offer a fair price. (3) BUDDY HALL colt has only one win on the year but should be in line for a trip up close to the pace. (6) TAG UP AND GO was too far back last out but is a definite contender in the race.

Race 4

(2) REQUEST FOR PAROLE might be ready to step up after a huge upset win last out over a very game opponent. (6) SEASIDE RORY filly likes to win and has been used very aggressively; needs a trip. (9) MARLEE B has been racing gamely and a lot better than her lines show.

Race 5

(4) PL HELLCAT two-year-old is immensely talented and could benefit from a fast pace to close into. (3) JET AIRWAY looks to be a big favorite on paper after almost winning against a stacked field after making a break at the start. (2) CRAFTY MASTER well bred colt has big time go and is one of the horses to beat in the field.

Race 6

(4) FLANAGAN MEMORY isn't the most consistent trotter but will be tough to beat if he minds his manners. (7) MUSCLE MAX trotted a good mile last out and looks to be on the right track after a brief layoff. (6) THANKYOUKESSEL talented gelding has a ton of speed and looks to be better coming from off the pace.

Race 7

(1) TEA PARTY PRINCESS mare has a ton of back class, draws the rail, and drops; big chance. The well bred 5-year-old also needed her last start. (3) EIGHTHUNRDOLARBILL is the other dropper in the race and gets sent out for a hot barn in this scenario. (7) DOCS HOPE mare has a lot of ability and drew off impressively last out but would need more to get by the top two choices.

Race 8

(8) LANESIDE LEXUS should be a big price and might be much better second start back off the layoff. (1) OCEANVIEW BINDI mare has tailed off as the year has went on but does make her second start in this class after not missing by much last out. (9) ON THE CUSP has burned cash in two straight and now gets saddled with a bad post; command a price.

Race 9

(7) MASSACAIA well bred colt goes out for the top barn and faces much easier than his last two starts. (6) MASSIVE MUSCLES gelding has a lot of talent but does have a suspect driver; use caution. (1) GREAT WHITE WAY draws the rail and looks to be in line for a ground saving trip.

Race 10

(5) BOOM BOOM BALLYKEEL was absolutely loaded last out in the Metro; any kind of repeat performance makes him tough to beat. (7) ARTHUR BLUE CHIP comes off a scratch and a break but prior to that would have been the likely favorite in the Metro. (6) MARCO DE VIE two-year has some nice closing ability but looks to be overmatched; use underneath.

Race 11

(7) FOX VALLEY BONITA mare has been really good in her last few efforts and might offer a better price than her last. (6) EMBASSY SEELSTER filly goes out for a trainer who wins at a good clip and faces a much easier field than her last. (1) ANGELS DELIGHT had won two straight before tiring badly late last out but is in a great spot to do some damage.

Race 12

(9) SARANDON BLUE CHIP mare is on the comeback trail and might be ready for another victory despite stepping up in class; fires early. (2) THATLL BE FRANNY veteran pacer has been knocking on the door and could use a smooth trip. (10) CAMS VAN GO mare takes a significant drop in class and just needs to find a way into the race.
