Race 1
(2) BUTTERMILK HANOVER went a big first up trip to win last time, beating a few of these in the process. All three of her career wins have come over Mohawk and she can double up here if the week off didn't dull her any. (3) ART ANGEL BABY was a victim of a slow 2nd quarter last week and although she had enough time to catch the leader in the lane, that rival wasn't slowing at all. She rates highly here racing from close range. (7) ISLAY N took control early last week and stole a valuable breather then sprinted to a win. She isn't out of this, but the choice beat her two back and kept her pinned in that night. (8) LADY CRAZY was the only one that moved while the pace was slowing, but she couldn't clear and she paid the price. She has the look of a live longshot here.
Race 2
(4) OLIVIAS WAY moved first over into an accelerating pace last week and she understandably stalled. She can rebound here with a better trip. (2) PHOENICIAN GAL suffered a similar fate in the same race and she was out of position while a slow pace was being set. She, too, has a much better chance here. (6) GOLDIES BAD GIRL is worth a look off the Johnson claim and coming off two wins; using. (5) HOWMACFIESTY perhaps set too slow a pace for her own good last time, but she still appears to be a fringe player here.
Race 3
(9) TRUE BLUE STRIDE left well then stayed in last week but he appeared to have some trot in the lane, He seems to be coming around for Vanderkemp and he should be a good price here; slight nod. (7) DOMITIAN HALL raced much better last week and he should threaten racing close up here. (5) JUSTASMALLTOWNGIRL can last much longer here starting from a better post. She used up a lot of energy to clear last week. (8) KAMIKAZE LINDY has finished third in 50% of his 2017 starts. He can close for a slice here.
Race 4
(5) JUST BLITZED closed ground even though the late pace really picked up last week. She can rally and beat these if the pace is honest. (1) WINDY SPORT was one of the better rookie pacing fillies last year and while she doesn't have to win this debut, trainer Coleman typically sends them all ready; using. (3) THATGIRLISONFIRE closed a lot of ground last week when facing an impressive filly. She is another to consider for multi-race bets here. (6) DANA SALAAM really had no excuse last week when picked off by a 48/1 shot. She looks like a fringe player here.
Race 5
(5) MUCH ADOO comes off a solid try in the top class and she could notch her first tally of the year here, but she's certainly no lock. (4) KIWI FOCUS N powered her way to a solid win here last week. She has been sharp for several weeks and Hudon gets along well with her. (7) DEWAR N SODA was outsprinted late last time but she didn't give up. She is at a post disadvantage here which likely dooms her to taking only a smaller share. (1) WANDA BAYAMA also figures to take a smaller share off a decent following trip here.
Race 6
(1) KINETIC KING moves to a better post for his third try in this class and he faces a suspect field. I'll give him the very slightest nod in a race that likely demands wide Pick 4 coverage. (4) DUNVEGAN DON faced much better in this same class last week. I expect him to be much closer at the finish here. (9) PRESQUILLE rarely wins, but is he can replicate his mile from last week, he is in with a decent chance here. (2) SWAN FOR DEE should improve sharply here moving to an inside post.
Race 7
(4) WHISTYS PARADISE isn't the soundest-looking mare, but few try harder and she loves Mohawk. Call to repeat. (10) PRETTY HOT has the early foot to overcome this post and float out for good position. She is a sharp contender, but has also yet to win this year. (3) LOVE TO ROLL won't be 48/1 tonight, but she is hard to leave out coming off that mile which was a vastly-improved effort. (6) TOPVILLE CHEETAH can go better here making her second start back from a vet scratch.
Race 8
(2) KAYS SHADOW had a race over the track, got a clean line, now moves inside. Expect a more aggressive drive here. (6) WINDSONGMAGNIFIQUE raced hard vs. a tough and rapidly-improving winner last time. These are likely easier; using. (4) CALL ME MAYBE couldn't close into an accelerating late pace last time. She should fare better here. (9) SING LIKE AN ANGEL raced well in this class in two straight. She's in with a shot if she can overcome this post.
Race 9
(2) SANDBETWEENURTOES showed no rust when returning from down south and having missed a couple of weeks. When she's on her game, she is easily the best of this bunch; call to repeat. (7) REQUEST FOR PAROLE could do no better than 4th last week despite pacing home in 26 2/5. She will be in the flow again here and if the pace is a bit quicker, she should be right there. (3) WAASMULA races better when positioned near the front. Henry will likely leave with her starting from an inside post. (4) P L HURRICANE continues to take good shares off nice trips. The trend should continue here.
Race 10
(1) ONYOURMARKNATAVA left hard for position then pressed the pace first up last week when dropped to this class. That was a solid effort and she should be right there vs. these if she can work out a better trip. (4) AINSLEYNOELLE raced well enough to win last week, but a classy veteran got by down the lane. She is a threat right back. (6) WILDCAT MAGIC improved last week racing in this class and Henry sticks. Toss her on late Pick 4 tickets. (2) JORDIES HOPE dropped two seconds last week and although she is an infrequent winner, she fits here and can hit the ticket in her third start off a break. (8) YOUR MY SECRET paced a good final 1/4 for driver McNair last week and he sticks here. She is one to consider at a price for deeper Pick 4 tickets.
