Modest buy Illegal Memories wins million-dollar race

Illegal Memories, a Quarter Horse purchased for $5,500, won the richest race in Texas on Saturday night when he rollied to a neck win in the $1,069,297 Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star Park. The Grade 1 race for 2-year-olds closed out the track's meet for Quarter Horses. For the win, Illegal Memories earned $475,837.

Roy Baldillez rode favorite Illegal Memories ($5.20) for trainer Doug McMullen. The horse races for Charlie Forbes and Tim Lange.
