Breeders' Cup Mile winner Modern Games will return to Keeneland to begin his 4-year-old campaign in the Grade 1 Maker's Mark Mile, owner-breeder Godolphin said Wednesday. Godolphin posted the update on its official Twitter channel from its Moulton Paddocks training facility in Newmarket, home to trainer Charlie Appleby. The international outfit noted Appleby’s string is "advancing nicely" in training, with Modern Games heading straight to the U.S. for his season debut. The Maker’s Mile is set for Friday, April 14, on the second weekend of Keeneland’s spring meeting. Modern Games, a 4-year-old Dubawi colt, is unbeaten in three Grade 1 outings in North America, winning the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar, last fall's Woodbine Mile, and the Breeders' Cup Mile on Nov. 5 at Keeneland in his most recent outing. :: Take your handicapping to the next level and play with FREE DRF Past Performances - Formulator or Classic.  Godolphin also said that stablemate With the Moonlight will contest the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley for fillies and mares on the Keeneland turf on April 15. The filly campaigned in New York last summer, finishing second in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks, winning the Grade 3 Saratoga Oaks, and finishing second in the Grade 2 Lake Placid in the final start of her 3-year-old campaign. She returned to action with a pair of Group 2 wins at Meydan in February. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
