GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Mo Mosa will likely summer at Del Mar after running the best race of his career last Monday in the Grade 3, $400,000 Steve Sexton Mile at rain-soaked Lone Star Park. “He liked the Texas mud,” said Mike Maker, who trains Mo Mosa. “We brought him back to Kentucky, and it looks like we might take him to California for the summer, for the Del Mar meet.” Maker said he plans to have a division of horses stabled at Del Mar for the first time this summer. The Kentucky-based trainer anticipates having 25 to 30 runners stabled at the Southern California track. “We’re going to have some horses out there, try to split up some we have for the same conditions,” Maker said. “And the Ship and Win program they have out there is very nice.” :: DRF Bets players get FREE Daily Racing Form Past Performances and up to 5% weekly cashback. Join Now.  Maker said no specific race had been selected for Mo Mosa, a son of Uncle Mo who races for his breeders, Perry and Denise Martin. Maker also will have summer divisions at Saratoga, Ellis Park, and Indiana Grand. Mo Mosa came into the Sexton Mile off a win in the Bosselman Pump and Pantry/Gus Fonner Stakes at Fonner Park. He stalked the pace in third at Lone Star, which was hit with heavy rain during the second half of its card, and went on to a 3 1/2- length win over C Z Rocket. Mo Mosa covered the mile in 1:37.15 and earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 99.
