Mo Forza retired, will stand at Rancho San Miguel

Mo Forza, a seven-time graded stakes winner on turf, has been officially retired and will stand at Rancho San Miguel in central California, the farm announced Wednesday.
Mo Forza, 5, won 8 of 15 starts and earned $1,034,460 in a three-year career that ended with a 13th-place finish after a troubled start in the Breeders’ Cup Mile on Nov. 6 at Del Mar as the 3-1 second choice.
Earlier this year, Mo Forza won consecutive Grade 2 races on turf in his only previous starts of the season – the Del Mar Mile in August and City of Hope Mile at Santa Anita. Mo Forza raced for owners Dyan Abrams and Onofrio Pecoraro and trainer Peter Miller.
According to Wednesday’s announcement, Mo Forza will stand for Taylor Made Stalllions and Pecoraro. A syndicate will be formed. Mo Forza, by Uncle Mo, will stand for $9,000.
Mo Forza lost his first five starts before launching a four-race winning streak in late 2019 that included the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar that November. As a 4-year-old in 2020, Mo Forza won the Del Mar Mile and City of Hope Mile as part of a three-race campaign that ended in October because of injury that prevented a start in the BC Mile at Keeneland.
