Mizz Money eyes Just a Game

Fresh off a gutsy victory in the Grade 3 Gallorette on the Preakness undercard at Pimlico, Mizz Money could make her next start against even tougher company in the Grade 1, $700,000 Just a Game on the Belmont Stakes undercard June 11.
Churchill-based trainer Bernie Flint, who co-bred and co-owns Mizz Money with Ron Hillerich, said he is leaning toward the one-mile Just a Game, as opposed to staying home to run the 4-year-old filly in the Grade 3, $100,000 Mint Julep, a 1 1/16-mile turf race here the same day.
Go Maggie Go headed to Acorn
Trainer Dale Romans has confirmed Black-Eyed Susan Stakes winner Go Maggie Go as likely for the Grade 1 Acorn on the Belmont Stakes undercard.
“She came out of it just fine,” said Romans. “I’m really happy with her. We’ll take a hard look at the Acorn and probably wind up going there.”
The Acorn also is the likely next race for Kentucky Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia and for Carina Mia, a highly impressive winner of the Eight Belles on the Oaks undercard.
Romans said Ma Can Do It, who was second at 50-1 to her stablemate in the Black- Eyed Susan, most likely will return to maiden company at Churchill before the spring meet ends July 2.
◗ Runhappy still hasn’t breezed while galloping daily at the Thoroughbred training center in Lexington, although trainer Laura Wohlers said Friday the 4-year-old colt continues to make steady progress in his recovery from a bruised hind foot. Runhappy has raced just once, winning the Malibu Dec. 26 at Sant Anita, since clinching the 2015 Eclipse Award for top sprinter with a victory in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint last fall. Wohlers said she and her brother-in-law, owner Jim McIngvale, have no particular race in mind for a comeback spot.
A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Runhappy was unraced since his Breeders' Cup Sprint victory Oct. 31. He won the Malibu Stakes on Dec. 26.
