Through the midway point of the first commercial juvenile breeze show of the year, there was a crowded leaderboard at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. In advance of the company’s March 2-year-olds in training sale, which kicks off the 2-year-old sale season in North America next week, a four-session under-tack preview is underway on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface. Through the first two sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, a total of 14 juveniles by 13 different sires share the fastest time for a furlong, the standard yardstick for these sales, at 9 4/5 seconds. The lone stallion to put two juveniles among the bullet furlong group was Eclipse Award champion sprinter and freshman stallion Mitole, who had both a colt and a filly in those ranks. Mitole, who won the Breeders' Cup Sprint and three other Grade 1 events in his championship season, stands at Spendthrift Farm. :: Take your handicapping to the next level and play with FREE DRF Past Performances - Formulator or Classic.  His fastest colt, who is a half-brother to stakes winner Conquest Sandman, is consigned by Dynasty Thoroughbreds.
