Mitey Man heads cast for New Mexico State Fair Quarter Horse Futurity

Coady Photography Mitey Man was the fastest qualifier in the New Mexico State Fair Quarter Horse Futurity Trials on Sept. 9.
Mitey Man will attempt to win his third straight race Saturday night in the $241,167 New Mexico State Fair Quarter Horse Futurity at the Downs at Albuquerque. He set the fastest qualifying time for the 400-yard finale on Sept. 9, when he won his trial in 19.77 seconds.
Mitey Man won off by 2 1/4 lengths, one start after a one-length maiden win Aug. 22 at Ruidoso. He is a son of First Moonflash and is owned by Bobby Simmons and trained by Trey Wood. Mitey Man will break from post 9 in the field of 10.
Others making up the field include Scooters Debutant, one of four fillies in the race and the second-fastest qualifier after winning her trial in 19.79 seconds. Earlier in the year, she was third in the Zia Futurity at Ruidoso.
