Miss Technicality works for Miss Grillo

ELMONT, N.Y. – Miss Technicality, six-length winner of the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Turf, worked a half-mile Monday morning in 49.63 seconds over the inner turf course at Belmont Park.
Miss Technicality, trained by Christophe Clement, is being pointed to the Grade 2, $200,000 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont on Sept. 30.
In Monday’s move, done over a good-to-yielding course, Miss Technicality started two lengths behind the mare Palinodie and eventually finished on equal terms. The rider of Palinodie was definitely waiting on Miss Technicality and jockey Joel Rosario to catch up.
“Easy work, they finished together, she was moving well,” trainer Christophe Clement said. “She was not rank early on in her work. She was very settled in behind. All good.”
Also working on the inner turf Monday for Clement was Frostmourne, who went a half-mile in 48.88 seconds. Frostmourne, a 4-year-old son of Speightstown, has not run since finishing fourth as the favorite in the Grade 2 Monmouth Stakes at Monmouth Park on May 26. He was a multiple graded stakes winner at 3,
Clement said it was still too early to know where Frostmourne would run next.
◗ Among the other turf workers of note Monday was Heart to Heart, who went five furlongs in 1:00.50 for trainer Brian Lynch in preparation for the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland.
