Odds-on favorite Miss Stormy D ($3.00) couldn't have had an easier time as she scored her first stakes victory Saturday in the She's A Tiger at Pleasanton. While it was the first stakes victory for the 5-year-old daughter of Tapizar, she clearly overmatched the field of four rivals. She was coming off a third in the Grade 2 Santa Maria at the same 1 1/16-mile distance and had earlier run second in the Grade 3 La Canada, also at 1 1/16 miles. As expected, sprinter Tiz Fake News took a quick early lead through a 23.46 opening quarter, but Miss Stormy D assumed control by the half-mile pole. Jockey Geovanni Franco never really asked Miss Stormy D to hold the lead, but she did easily the rest of the way down the backstretch and had built an insurmountable four-length lead turning for home. :: Join DRF Bets and play the races with a $250 First Deposit Bonus.
