Miss Peach upsets Iowa Stallion Filly Stakes for first stakes win
Miss Peach became a stakes winner Friday night, when she was up for a nose win over Interstella in the $70,000 Iowa Stallion Filly Stakes at Prairie Meadows. It was another 2 1/2 lengths back in third to Majestic Ways.
The stakes was for 3-year-old fillies over one mile and 70 yards.
Miss Peach ($32.40) trailed as Adria and Demidanu dueled through fractions of 23.90 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.66 for the half-mile, and 1:13.81 for six furlongs. Miss Peach put in a strong bid through the stretch and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:45.12.
Glenn Corbett was aboard for trainer Kelly Von Hemel.

Miss Peach is a daughter of Dominus who races for Poindexter Thoroughbreds and Albaugh Family Stables. She is now 2 for 4 for earnings of $90,940.
