Into Mischief going strong entering the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred yearling sale

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Into Mischief, among last year’s leading juvenile sires, is again putting together an outstanding season with his 2-year-olds at the marquee summer meets of Del Mar and Saratoga, and he put in a strong showing Monday and Tuesday at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga selected yearling sale.
Into Mischief has been represented by impressive maiden winners Instagrand and Rowayton in California, both bound for graded company at Del Mar. Meanwhile, Somebeyay is expected to start in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga after having won the Grade 2 Sanford on opening weekend of that meet.
Larry Best owns both Instagrand and Rowayton, and he traveled to Saratoga this week to go back to the well at the Fasig-Tipton selected yearling sale. The OXO Equine owner went to $950,000 for an Into Mischief filly on Monday night. All 13 of the Spendthrift Farm stallion’s offerings sold, for an average price of $423,462. That is nearly 10 times the $45,000 stud fee those yearlings were conceived on in 2016. Into Mischief’s fee climbed to $100,000 for 2018.
Into Mischief is represented by three yearlings in the catalog for this weekend’s Fasig-Tipton New York-bred yearling sale. His son Goldencents, who stands alongside him at Spendthrift and is the nation’s leading freshman sire, has four in the sale.
