Mingun, a Group 3-winning son of A. P. Indy and champion Miesque, is heading for stud in Denmark. The Racing Post reported Monday that the Lane’s End stallion has been sold privately to a syndicate of Danish owners who will stand him at York Stud in Horsholm, Denmark, managed by Alexander and Karina Elsass. Mingun, 10, is a half-brother to Kingmambo, Miesque’s Son, and East of the Moon. He also is a half-brother to Monevassia, dam of Group 1 winner and Europe’s champion juvenile filly of 2005, Rumplestiltskin. Mingun’s notable runners to date from two racing-age crops include 2010 stakes-winner Gunner and stakes-placed Nehru and Molly Mingun. He’s also the sire of British winners Mingun Bell and Avow. His progeny earnings stand at $662,416 so far. Mingun stood the 2010 breeding season with an advertised stud fee of $5,000. Mingun won the Group 3 Meld Stakes in Ireland in 2003 during a career in which he won three of eight lifetime starts.
