Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird will be the focus of an open house at Double Eagle Ranch in Roswell, N.M., on Thursday. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain time, said Kelly Dennington, the general manager for the ranch, which is owned by Mark Allen, who races Mine That Bird with Leonard Blach. Allen, Blach, and trainer Chip Woolley will be in attendance. Mine That Bird worked at Ruidoso Downs on Monday and led the post parade for the All American Futurity that afternoon, when the track reported a record crowd of 23,478. Mine That Bird hats and T-shirts will be sold Thursday, with proceeds going to the Disabled Jockeys Fund and a charity for homeless women and children in New Mexico.
