Miller targets Churchill Downs stakes with quartet

ARCADIA, Calif. – Trainer Peter Miller may send four recent Santa Anita winners to Churchill Downs for major stakes May 5-6. Miller said on Friday that Conquest Farenheit, Richard’s Boy, Solid Wager, and Storm the Hill may travel there.
Conquest Farenheit, the winner of the Baffle and Pasadena stakes in consecutive starts at Santa Anita this year, is a candidate for the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles on May 6.
On the same day, Solid Wager, the winner of the Grade 3 Midnight Lute Stakes on Dec. 31, could run in the Grade 2 Churchill Downs Stakes at seven furlongs. Solid Wager was third in the Tiznow Stakes for California-breds on Feb. 26.
Richard’s Boy finished fifth in the $1 million Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai on March 25 and could run in the Grade 3 Twin Spires Turf Sprint at five furlongs on May 5. Richard’s Boy won the Cal Cup Sprint in January. Miller said Richard’s Boy has been quick to recover from the trip to the Middle East.
“It’s like he never ran,” Miller said.
Storm the Hill, who won a maiden race and an optional claimer in consecutive starts at Santa Anita, is a candidate for the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles on turf May 5. She could instead remain in Southern California for the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes at a mile on turf at Santa Anita on May 6, Miller said.
