Miller setting up a Belmont Park division

ELMONT, N.Y. – Trainer Peter Miller will have a string of about a dozen head in New York, several of whom are shipping in from Kentucky where they performed in stakes races over Derby weekend at Churchill Downs.
“Looking to expand our presence,” Miller said. “California is struggling with entries, so we need to do what’s best for our clients.”
Sombeyay, second in the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint, is expected to ship in this week along with Shashashakemeup, 10th the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Sprint, and Unique Factor, last of six behind Gamine in the Grade 1 Derby City Distaff.
Get Her Number, who at one time was under consideration for the Kentucky Derby, was expected to work Tuesday in California. Miller mentioned Saturday’s Grade 2 Peter Pan as a possibility or he could train the 3-year-old up to the Belmont Stakes on June 5.
Get Her Number was most recently fourth in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby.

Miller said he also has some claiming horses and would be shipping in others.
