Milan takes St. Leger

Milan overpowered nine rivals at Doncaster Saturday in the St. Leger Stakes, the last classic race of the British season.

A Sadler's Wells colt, Milan drew off a five-length winner over Demopholis at odds of 13-8. The time for the 1 3/4 miles, 132 yards was 3:05.16.
