After Shining Copper won the Grade 3 River City Handicap on Thursday at Churchill, Maker had won 1,997 races. Between Churchill and several other tracks, he had three entries on Friday, six on Saturday, and 10 on Sunday.
Maker opened his own public stable in 2003 after a lengthy stint as a top assistant to D. Wayne Lukas.
