Mike Luzzi returning to New York

Jockey Mike Luzzi, who spent a brief period riding at Lone Star Park alongside his son Lane Luzzi, has returned to New York, said agent Bradley White, who represented Mike Luzzi in Texas.

White said Luzzi is back at Belmont Park, which opened Wednesday. Luzzi long has been based in New York.

White represents Lane Luzzi, who continues to ride at Lone Star.

◗ The Oklahoma Racing Commission approved an amended dates calendar for the 2020 Thoroughbred meet at Remington Park, which will now extend a week to Dec. 20. The season opens Aug. 21, and the first two weeks of racing will be limited to cards on Fridays and Saturdays. Remington began racing with spectators at the tail end of its Quarter Horse meet that ended last Saturday.
