Mid-South notes: Blip n’ Th Bye points to Jersey Girl Stakes

Blip n’ Th Bye, who won the $50,000 Cajun Miss in April at Evangeline Downs, is targeting a stakes at Belmont Park, according to trainer Al Stall Jr. She is being pointed for the $150,000 Jersey Girl, a six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies June 10.
Blip n’ Th Bye has made one start since her 5 1/4-length win in the Cajun Miss. She ran second to Carina Mia in the Grade 2 Eight Belles Stakes last month at Churchill Downs.
Stall trains Blip n’ Th Bye for Beau Lane.
Mocklin subbing for McGary
Rick Mocklin, the agent for jockey Richard Eramia, will call the races Friday and Saturday at Louisiana Downs, according to announcer John McGary.
McGary, 50, will miss those programs because he will be getting married in Nevada on Sunday. McGary is engaged to Julie Casas-Davies, 46. Both are originally from Southern California. McGary said the wedding is being held in Nevada because it’s an easy trip for the couple’s family members who still reside in California.
New Arkansas commissioners
Steve Landers and Kent “Bo” Hunter were named to the Arkansas Racing Commission last week by Gov. Asa Hutchinson.
Hutchinson also announced that Alex Lieblong has been appointed chairman of the commission. The new vice chairman is Mark Lamberth.
Lieblong, who takes over from longtime outgoing chairman Cecil Alexander, raced Grade 1 winners Telling and The Big Beast.
