Michele Dollase disbands stable
ARCADIA, Calif. – Michele Dollase has disbanded her San Luis Rey Downs stable, which consisted of approximately 20 horses she trained and some horses at the beginning of their careers or returning from layoffs.
Dollase said her stable had shrunk from 45 horses to 20 in the last year, making for difficult economic conditions. Dollase, the daughter of the late trainer Wally Dollase, and sister to trainers Craig and Aimee Dollase, said she plans to remain active in the sport.
“I’m a racetracker in blood,” she said. “I’ll do something.”
Dollase had her first stakes win in 2018 when Hardboot won the Silky Sullivan Stakes for 3-year-olds on turf at Golden Gate Fields.
