Miami Valley: Miller vaults past $300 million in lifetime earnings

Less than a week after he became harness racing's all-time leading driver by earnings, David Miller's lifetime bankroll went over $300 million, making him the first driver to reach that mark.

Miller reached the milestone in the 14th race on Tuesday's program at Miami Valley Raceway when he won with 5-year-old Well Said gelding Perfect Paradise in 1:54 3/5 for trainer Chris Presley.

In harness racing, only trainer Ron Burke had previously crested $300,000,000 in career earnings. Miller ranks seventh all-time in earnings between Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing jockeys and drivers, joining jockeys John Velazquez, Javier Castellano, Irad Ortiz Jr., Mike Smith, Joel Rosario and Jose Ortiz in the $300 million club.

Currently the leading driver at Miami Valley in both victories and earnings, Miller's next major accomplishment will be when he reaches 15,000 career wins; his total currently sits at 14,903.
