But the young Darley sire’s second Northern Hemisphere crop has gotten off to a flying start, and it’s that group who could kick-start the weekend at Belmont for their sire, as Baytown Frosty goes in the Tremont Stakes on Friday afternoon. Frosted is already represented by three individual winners from his second crop, a group that looks more precocious than his first crop, which did not break through with an initial winner until August. The stallion’s three juvenile winners this season are Bohemian Frost, who was subsequently third in the Kentucky Juvenile; Baytown Frosty, who gets another stakes chance after running sixth in the Juvenile; and Glacial, bound for the Grade 3 Bashford Manor later this month. Frosted’s multiple Grade 1 victories included a tour de force in the 2016 Metropolitan Handicap, when he romped by 14 1/4 lengths in a sparkling 1:32.73. The young stallion is among the latest bolstering the long reputation of the Grade 1, $1 million Metropolitan as a stallion-making race. :: Belmont Stakes 2021: Get DRF Past Performances, Clocker Reports, and exclusive picks and plays so you can bet with confidence.  The Met Mile, which will be renewed for the 128th time on Saturday, showcases the brilliance that is so desired in the American market and has been won by such prominent stallions as Tom Fool (1953), Native Dancer (1954), Buckpasser (1967), Tentam (1973), Cox’s Ridge (1978), Fappiano (1981), and Gulch (1987-88).
