Awesome Rhythm, with Jim McAleney riding, wraps up his 2 1/4-length victory in the Marine at Woodbine. On the Menu ($3.60) outfought Bold Union and Mary's Follies in the stretch to earn her first stakes victory in the $65,000 Just Smashing at Monmouth Park. Ridden for the first time by Eddie Castro, On the Menu sat just off a three-way early battle for the lead, went three wide into the stretch to challenge, overtook Bold Union in deep stretch, then held off 12-1 shot Mary's Follies by a neck in the six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. Bold Union, scratched out of Friday's Miss Preakness in favor of this overnight stakes, finished a neck behind Mary's Follies. On the Menu, a daughter of Canadian Frontier, completed the distance on a fast track in 1:09.47. It was Castro's fourth win on the card. Trained by Larry Jones, On the Menu was making her first start since finishing second in the Prima Donna at Oaklawn Park in late March. She has now won 3 of 7 lifetime.
