Menifee going to stud in Korea

Glenye Cain Oakford|Oct 05, 2006

Menifee, a Grade 1 winner and runner-up in the 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, has been sold to the Korean Racing Association and will take up stud duties in South Korea in 2007.

Arthur Hancock, who bred Menifee and stood him in partnership at his Stone Farm near Paris, Ky., confirmed the private sale Thursday.

Menifee is a 10-year-old son of Harlan and the Never Bend mare Anne Campbell. He has sired such runners as 2006 Grade 3 winner Taittinger Rose, Grade 2 winner Letgomyecho, and Grade 3 winner Burnish. From four crops to race, Menifee has progeny earnings of $6,573,518.
