Memorial on Saturday for longtime Fort Erie vet

A memorial service for Dr. Graham Gardiner was set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Southminster United Church, 6801 Hager St., Niagara Falls.

Gardiner died Wednesday following a lengthy illness. He was 73.

A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary Clinic in Guelph, Gardiner served as the Ontario Racing Commission veterinarian at Fort Erie for more than 30 years.

Prior to his tenure at the racetrack, he owned and operated Bridgeview Pet Care.

Gardiner is survived by Betty, his wife of 51 years, sons Gerry and Greg, and daughter Brenda.
