The Meadows: Two-year-old fillies battle in Keystone Classics

Two-year-old fillies were in action on Wednesday afternoon at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in two Keystone Classic splits for pacers and a single test for trotters.

In the $58,150 contest for the trotters, Shes A Home Run (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) took the lead past the 28 1/5 quarter, and following a 58 4/5 half and a 1:27 2/5, three-quarters, her 29 second final quarter got her to the wire half a length ahead of a ralling Sevenoops Hanover (Brady Brown) in a 1:56 2/5 mile. The Captain's Wife (Justin Irvine) finished third.

A daughter of Captain Corey bred by Steve Jones, Shes A Home Run is trained by Vernon Beachy and owned by 518 Group LLC. and Ryan Smith. She has three wins, a second and a pair of thirds from six starts, has earned $83,126 and paid $3.20 to win.

Dave Palone swept the $40,050 paces, tallying on the front-end with Aestas in 1:52 and from first-over with Love Somebody in 1:52 2/5.

Aestas, a Papi Rob Hanover filly, is trained by Steve Le Blanc for owner Glenn Dyke. The Dr. William Solomon-bred has a summary of 4-1-0 from seven efforts, has pocketed $98,683 and returned $2.40 to win.

Linda Toscano sent out Love Somebody, a Captaintreacherous homebred for Country Club Acres Inc. and Joe Sbrocco. She's a two-time victor from seven trips behind the gate, has put away $68,226 and paid $6.60 to win.

The Meadows will host Keystone Classic races again on Thursday, this time for rookie males.
