The Meadows: Triple for offspring of Captain Corey in Arden Downs
The Adios Eve features at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows were divisions of the Arden Downs for 2-year-old trotters of both sexes. Three of the winners were sired by Captain Corey, two were driven by Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and a pair were trained by Norm Parker for owners Bart and Todd Brice.
Wrenn Jr. won the first $20,000 split for the fillies with The Captain's Wife (paid $2.40 to win), a daughter of Captain Corey bred by David Wade, Gerald Brittingham and William Peel III., on the front-end in 1:57 3/5 for trainer Vernon Beachy and owners 518 Group LLC. and Ryan Smith. Wrenn Jr. then got his picture taken again in the opening $20,000 section for the boys with Muscle Hill gelding Crimson Crown (paid $5 to win), as he took command in the second quarter and went on to score in 1:57 for trainer Matt Burkholder and owner Dark Horse Farm LLC. Crimson Crown was bred by Diamond Creek Farm and Woodside Farm.
Norm Parker-trained filly Miss Eliza (paid $2.80 to win) and colt Red Andray (paid $11.60 to win), won their respective $20,400 and $20,000 tests to complete Captain Corey's siring hat trick. Miss Eliza was bred by Christian Stoltzfus, while Red Andray, who is co-owned by the above-mentioned Brices with Andray Farm, was bred by Sergent Stables LLC.
