The Meadows: Track record performance by Shes A Home Run in PA Sire Stakes

As they did on Wednesday night at Northfield Park, driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and trainer Vernon Beachy bagged both of Thursday afternoon's $54,945 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes splits for rookie trotting fillies at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, led by a track record effort from Shes A Home Run.

Racing in the second division, Shes A Home Run floated out from post five and drove forward to take the lead away from Patty's Girl (Tyler Buter) beyond the 28 second opening quarter. After she had the top spot secured, Shes A Home Run trotted through middle-half fractions of 56 3/5 and 1:24 1/5 before she came home in 29 1/5 to defeat a first-over Miss Eliza (Dave Palone) by two lengths in 1:53 2/5. Patty's Girl wound up third.

A daughter of Captain Corey bred by Steve Jones, Shes A Home Run is owned by 518 Group LLC. and Ryan Smith. She has two wins, a second and a pair of thirds from six starts, has earned $54,051 and paid $4.20 to win.

Back in the first section, The Captain's Wife and Wrenn Jr. made it to the front in a 28 1/5 quarter and forced a two-wide Ops Mearas S (Buter) to back off into the pocket. The Captain's Wife would go on to reach the half in 58 2/5, successfully dealt with first-over pressure from Ginger Tree Darla (Aaron Merriman) on the way to the 1:27 2/5 three-quarters and closed in 28 4/5 to hold off Ops Mearas S by half a length in 1:56 1/5. Blythe Hanover (Mike Wilder) was up for third.

Also by Captain Corey and owned by 518 Group LLC. and Ryan Smith, The Captain's Wife was bred by David Wade, Gerald Brittingham and William Peel III. She has a summary of 3-1-0 from six appearances, has pocketed $63,190 and returned $3.60 to win.
