The Meadows: Shacarri, Be Perfect BG score in Mickey Burke Adioo Volo

Shacarri and Yannick Gingras rallied late in the stretch to go past Miss Jum Jabber on the wire in a wicked 1:49 3/5 mile to capture the first of two $64,052 divisions of the Grade 3 Mickey Burke Adioo Volo at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Saturday afternoon. The half-sister to Louprint won for just the first time in nine starts in 2026 at generous odds of 15-1.

Gingras had Shacarri away quickly to the front as the odds-on Miss Jum Jabber settled in third. Topville Lucky, with Dexter Dunn, moved to the front before the 27 2/5 opening quarter and set the fractions, slowing the half to just 56 seconds flat. Andrew McCarthy put Miss Jum Jabber in motion entering the final turn and engaged in a bitter duel with the pace-setting Topville Lucky, with the pair on even terms through the 1:23 three-quarters.

Gingras watched the pair battle, but deftly angled Shacarri off the pylons behind the favorite and then sent her on a mission to collar the favorite. Shacarri responded to Gingras' urging and was able to sprint by to a nose victory. Miss Jum Jabber was second with Topville Lucky third.

Ron Burke trains Shacarri for owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Phil Collura and Zippett Racing Stable. Shacarri returned $32.20 to win.

Be Perfect BG was dominant in the second $64,052 stanza for driver Dexter Dunn.

Unlike the other $7,500 supplemental entry Miss Jum Jabber, Be Perfect BG took matters into her own hooves early, spending much of the 26 2/5 opening quarter on the wide side before clearing to the top in front of I'm A Lou Lou. Dunn hardly seemed to be rating the daughter of Perfect Sting as she marched through fractions of 53 4/5 and 1:20 4/5 with others struggling to remain in contact.

At headstretch only the pocket-sitter I'm A Lou Lou was in contact, but she couldn't gain as Be Perfect BG sprinted home in 28 1/5 to complete the mile just a fifth off the stakes record. I'm A Lou Lou held on to second with Perfect Thought gaining clearance late and closing well for third.

Owned by Ecurie Csl of Quebec City and trained by Anthony Beaton, Be Perfect BG was a winner for the 10th time in her career in just 12 starts. As the heavy favorite Be Perfect BG returned $2.20 to win.
