The Meadows: Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, Arden Downs raced on Adios undercard

Three Pennsylvania Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old colt pacers, plus Arden Downs splits for 3-year-old trotters of both sexes and 2-year-old pacing fillies took place prior to the 60th edition of the Delvin Miller Adios on Saturday afternoon at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows

Pennsylvania Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Pace - Total Purse $135,889

In the first $45,163 test, even-money favorite Mascarpone (James MacDonald) brushed from fourth to first en route to the 55 1/5 half and couldn't be caught after that, winning by a neck in 1:51 4/5. Stonebridge Blitz (Yannick Gingras), who raced in the pocket and the three-hole, was a traffic-troubled second in a dead-heat with Hard Four (Dexter Dunn), who went three-wide from last and off dead cover before three-quarters.

Dr. Ian Moore sent out Mascarpone, a Stay Hungry colt bred by Susan Zammit, for owner Mascarpone Stable. He has a win and a second in two outings, has put away $33,433 and paid $4 to win.

The second $45,163 tilt saw Starstruck Dreamer (Todd McCarthy) in the pocket behind Hungry Marco (Tim Tetrick) at the 27 2/5 quarter, 56 1/5 half and 1:23 4/5 three-quarters. Starstruck Dreamer then rallied in the passing lane in the stretch to defeat a first-over Atomix Hanover (MacDonald) by three-quarters of a length in 1:50 4/5. Hungry Marco wound up third.

Noel Daley trains the victorious Captaintreacherous colt for owners Steve Wienick Racing LLC., Pryde Stables Inc., Jfoderatritchiecanamerica and Hyatt Holdings Inc. The Sergent Stables-bred has won both of his appearances, has pocketed $32,581 and returned $6.40 to win as the 2-1 second choice.

Dr. Moore also won the last $45,563 flight with Shalom Hanover (Louis Roy) on the front-end in 1:50 4/5. Shalom Hanover gunned to the top from post three, cut a tempo of 27 4/5, 56 3/5 and 1:24, and after Roy popped the earplugs on the final turn, Shalom Hanover accelerated away to a 4 1/4 length triumph over a first-up Lounado (Austin Hanners). Captain Kangaroo (Andy McCarthy) was third from the pocket.

Shalom Hanover Stable owns the Hanover Shoe Farms-bred Shalom Hanover. A colt by Papi Rob Hanover, Shalom Hanover has a two-for-two mark in the win column, has banked $44,504 and paid $2.40 to win as the 1-5 favorite.

--Allnight Kid (by Tall Dark Stranger and bred by owner Mickie Rae Stables with Tim Twaddle, paid $12.80 to win) in 1:53 3/5 for driver Dave Palone and trainer Steve Le Blanc;

James Manderino Arden Downs 3YO C&G Trot - Purse $32,217

Summer Nights (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.), a 19-1 shot, sat third through fractions of 27 3/5, 56 2/5 and 1:24 1/5, tipped out on the last turn, rallied into the lead in the lane and held off a host of pursuers to win by half a length in 1:53 4/5. Tymal Kryptonite (Shawn Johnston) was second, followed by favorite Hamlet Hall (Mike Wilder).

A Bar Hopping gelding, Summer Nights was bred by owners Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. and is trained by Ron Burke. This was his third win from 18 career starts, he has now earned $44,137 and he paid $40.20 to win.

Dwane Parker Arden Downs 3YO Fillies Trot - Purse $30,117

Wendalyn Hanover (Yannick Gingras) went on a speed mission from the outside post eight, but Chestnut Kelly (Tim Tetrick) angled out of the pocket in the lane and got up nearing the wire to tally by a head in a stakes record 1:53 1/5. Wendalyn Hanover, who was the leader through stations of 27 4/5, 56 2/5 and 1:24, had to settle for second and Skyline Salty Girl (Dexter Dunn) came up the passing lane from the three-hole to get third.

Scott Di Domenico is the trainer of Chestnut Kelly, a filly by Captain Corey, for owner Angela Cornell. Bred by Yankeeland Partners LLP., Chestnut Kelly has a summary of 2-3-5 from 13 efforts, has earnings of $61,494 and returned $5 to win as the 3-2 favorite.

Mary Lib Miller Arden Downs 2YO Fillies Pace - Purse $31,175

Coming off a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes victory in her last outing, Gold Impact (Mike Wilder), the 1-5 favorite, made her way to the front beyond the 28 second opening quarter and stayed on the point from there to prevail by a length and a half in 1:53. Blinkoneeightylou (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) took a run at the chalk from first-up and again in the lane from the pocket but had to settle for second and Jamie And The Jets (Yannick Gingras) collected third.

Dan Altmeyer-trained Gold Impact was bred by Winbak Farm and is owned by Altmeyer Wilder Racing, Hutchison Harness LLC., Milt Leeman and David Wills. She's got a 3-0-0 mark from four trips behind the gate, has pocketed $45,308 and paid $2.40 to win.
