The Meadows: Louprint, Prince Hal Hanover don't disappoint in PA Sire Stakes

Louprint made a successful return to action while Prince Hal Hanover got back on track after a poor finish in the Hempt at Pocono in a pair of $59,282 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes flights for 3-year-old male pacers on Saturday afternoon at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Racing in the second grouping, Louprint (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.), who was making his first pari-mutuel start since the North America Cup after a procedure to remove one of his testicles prior to the Meadowlands Pace put him on the sidelines, landed in fourth from the outside post six and began an uncovered march past the 27 2/5 quarter. Louprint joined leader Odds On Outlier (Peter Wrenn) coming to the 56 1/5 half and then went by him after that marker before he picked up the tempo to 1:22 4/5 at three-quarters.

Odds On Outlier kept right on Wrenn Jr.'s helmet and tipped out for the drive, but Louprint was comfortable to the wire and won by a length in 1:49 3/5. Odds On Outlier was a solid second and Railroad Station (Chris Page) collected third.

Prince Hal Hanover returned to the scene of his win in the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios last month and took the opening division in 1:50 2/5. Driver Todd McCarthy had Prince Hal Hanover on top through panels of 27 2/5, 55 4/5 and 1:23 4/5, and he came home in 26 3/5 off the well-rated tempo to defeat pocket-sitter Twisted Destiny (Dave Palone) by three-quarters of a length. Papi's Rocket (Wrenn Jr.) was third after a first-over attempt in the last quarter.
