After suffering his first career defeat in his Hambletonian elimination, Fashion Green got back to his winning ways in a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes division for 3-year-old male trotters on Saturday afternoon at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, scoring in a track record-equaling 1:52 2/5. Driven by Tim Tetrick in the $52,532 contest, Fashion Green led through fractions of 28 1/5, 57 and 1:24 2/5 and defeated pocket-sitter Hey Porter (Yannick Gingras) by 2 3/4 lengths. Frank Leahy (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was third. The time of 1:52 2/5 matched the existing standard for a sophomore gelding trotter over the five-eighths-mile oval. "It was a very good experience today for all involved," Tetrick said after the win. Fashion Green is a Greenshoe gelding bred and owned by Fashion Farms. The Jim Campbell trainee has earned $147,013 to go with his 6-0-0 record from seven outings, and he paid $3.00 to win. "He's a total professional that enjoys his work," Campbell offered about Fashion Green. In the other $52,132 section, The Fix Is In (Charlie Norris) took the lead past the 29 second opening quarter, and after middle-half panels of 58 4/5 and 1:26 4/5, he scored by 2 1/4 lengths over Cheers Hanover (Wrenn Jr.) in a 1:54 4/5 effort. Bombay Tom (Mike Wilder) was third. "He was very good today," Norris remarked following the win. "On to the Beal." Bred by Midland Acres, The Fix Is In is an International Moni gelding trained by Norris for owners Carrie Norris and Max J. Hempt. He won for the sixth time, has earned $136,604 and returned $4.80 to win. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter A pair of $51,682 tilts for sophomore trotting fillies also took place, with victories going to Hangover and Country Victory. Hangover (Dave Palone) yielded to sit behind a brushing Highlandstarburst (Gingras) beyond the 27 3/5 quarter, stalked from the pocket to the 56 2/5 half and 1:26 three-quarters, then surged by Highlandstarburst in the passing lane to take the victory by half a length in 1:53 3/5. Ms Prada (Wrenn Jr.) checked in third. "She marched right off the wings, sat and waited to do her work," Palone said after the race. Ake Svanstedt trains and co-owns Hangover, a daughter of Southwind Frank bred by Sergent Stables LLC., with partners Joe Sbrocco & JAF Racing, Little E LLC. and Rivers Stable Inc. She has three wins, four seconds and two thirds from 12 efforts, has pocketed $127,384 and paid $11.60 to win. Country Victory would go on to reach three-quarters in 1:25 and her 29 1/5 last quarter sealed her 1 1/4 length victory over Bizzy Brenda (Andy Miller) in a 1:54 1/5 performance. Goodgirl Bi ended up third. "She was a little jammed-up early last week," Miller explained after the win. "This week we wanted to be the last to the lead and she was super again." The Hanover Shoe Farms-bred Country Victory was sent out by Melvin Schmucker for owner Yacht Club 140 LLC.
