The Meadows: Burke entrants installed as morning line favorites in Adios elims

Fifteen horses, including one filly, have entered the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, presented by 1/ST BET.  Elimination races will take place this Saturday, July 18, carded as races 6 and 7.  A pair of Ron Burke-trainees have been installed as the morning line favorites in their hometown race. 

The top four finishers in each $25,000 elimination race will advance to the July 25 final, along with the fifth-place finisher with the highest career earnings.

Two horses – Odds on Mr Mamba and No Waitlist – supplemented to the event for a fee of $35,000 each.  The Adios will now have a $420,000 purse for the final, including those supplemental fees.

Loua Dipa, trained by Ron Burke for the Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi, LLC, becomes the first filly entered in the Adios since With Thanks in 1969.  She has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite in the first elimination, while stablemate Al Papi, fresh off a second-place effort in the Meadowlands Pace, is the 2-1 early choice in the second elimination.  Al Papi is owned by the same connections, in partnership with J&T Silva, Purnell & Libby, and Larry Karr.
