Known as “The Greatest Day in Harness Racing,” Hambletonian Day 2025 seems certain to deliver on that promise. The two marquee events, the $1,000,000 Hambletonian and $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks, are just part of a 16-race Meadowlands Saturday card with over $3.1 million in stakes purses. On the wagering front, The Meadowlands is offering four guaranteed wagers. It starts with a $50,000 Pick 6 in the opener at noon, continues with a $75,000 Pick 5 in race three, tops out with a $125,000 Hambo/Oaks Pick 4 starting in race nine and concludes with a $100,000 Pick 4 in the Hambletonian final (race 12). The Hambletonian and Oaks are both wide-open affairs this year with more than a handful of legitimate contenders in each. The undefeated in 2025 Super Chapter was made the 5-2 morning-line choice in the Hambletonian while Miss Belmar offers the same starting guide in the Oaks. ♦ Get FREE Harness Eye past performances for Saturday's Hambo Day card ♦ Read Derick Giwner's full card analysis ♦ Watch analysis of the Hambletonian with Derick Giwner & Jay Bergman ♦ Watch analysis of the Hambletonian Oaks with Derick Giwner & Jay Bergman ♦ View full-card selections and analysis from our featured handicappers ♦ Get a 7% REBATE on Exotic wagers Super Chapter, one of three elimination winners, will have the services of Yannick Gingras in the bike for trainer Marcus Melander, who has three other horses in the contest including second choice Maryland (3-1). That charge won year-end divisional honors in 2024 but has been second in all four starts in 2025. Despite the seconditis, he lured the services of reigning Driver of the Year Dexter Dunn off Super Chapter for the final. The two other elimination winners were Emoticon Legacy (4-1) and Nordic Catcher S (9-2). Miss Belmar lacks the unblemished success of Super Chapter but has been on a roll lately, winning her last two starts heading into the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks, race 10 on the program. The Noel Daley-trained filly starts from post one with Andrew McCarthy in the bike and the trainer feels she’s the one to beat. “She’s the one I think they have to beat as long as she has a good day. She seems focused,” said Daley. Miss Belmar was also one of three elimination winners in the Oaks. Delaney Hanover (3-1) posted an identical winning time of 1:52 3/5 in her lead-up race and has drawn post five for trainer Lucas Wallin and three-time Hambletonian-winning driver Scott Zeron. Conversano (9-2) went one-fifth slower at 1:52 4/5 and will seek a first-ever win in the Oaks for trainer Juan Cano and four-time Canadian Driver of the year James MacDonald. Hambletonian Day always showcases top horses of all ages and sexes and 2025 is no different. Some of those slated to compete include: Dan Patch winner Miki And Minnie (Race 2) Meadowlands Pace winner Madden Oaks (Race 5) Hambletonian Maturity winner Elista Hanover (Race 6) Dan Patch winners Sylvia Hanover and Twin B Joe Fresh (Race 15) The Hambletonian and Oaks can be viewed live on FOX while the rest of the card will be streamed in a number of locations including the track’s YouTube page.
