Meadowlands logo (new)

Race 1 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 41 - 131 / $264.20 BEST BETS: 4 - 10 / $15.60

Best Bet: TELL US MORE (2nd)

Spot Play: ALEX BULLVILLE (8th)

Race 1

(4) FRANKANDJOANNE has early speed and should be tight after facing some faster foes. (5) SWEET ROCK finally broke into the win column last week. He moves from NW1 to NW2, but doesn’t face a much better group. (2) ROCKSTAR STRIDE should get a piece.

Race 2

(2) TELL US MORE was part of a fast early pace and still raced very well to be third. He should pick up his first win of the year on Saturday. (4) WILLY MUCHA has some early zip in his arsenal and seems likely to use it. With any reasonable trip he’ll be involved. (9) YANOYANOMENOW is off a good effort and should at least get into the exotics.

Race 3

(4) STORMIN RUSTLER has won two of his last three starts in the C-2 condition and tends to race well in spots like this where he can take charge. (3) ANDREW LUCK is another getting class relief that has a big chance. (5) HARE CRAFT went off at 3-5 and finished second in this class last time. This is a tougher spot, though. (7) HILLBILLY & (8) I’M BANSKY are both clean trip contenders.

Race 4

(1) DUEL IN THE SUN hasn’t been able to do better than second thus far in 2014, but finds the perfect spot to get off the schneid. (4) UP UP AND OUT has a win over the track and can certainly make some noise versus this field. (3) REFLECTION OF BLUE stays at the same level but takes on a softer group this week.

Race 5

(8) BUCKEYE IN CHARGE appears to be facing similar competition this week but actually finds a much easier bunch, similar to the foes he faced two starts back. (7) JOHNS POLYVIEW was a good second last time and a must use on every ticket against this dull group. (1) PEMBROKE DEWEY should be aggressive from the pylons; chance.

Race 6

(7) URGENT ACTION took on a more accomplished bunch last week and still held his own. I’m expecting more this week. (4) DRAGON LORE & (5) MY TEMUDJIN N are both stepping up the class ladder in fine form and either could take home the top prize. (2) TEXICAN N has some class and would be no shock.

Race 7

(10) ONTARIO SUCCESS flashed early speed from out of nowhere and marched down the road last time. The outside post presents some issues, but there is enough inside speed signed on for him to float away from the gate and wait for the race to come to him. (6) MY LAST CHANCE closed well last time and is clearly in form. If they go too fast on the engine, he can pick up the pieces at a huge price. (4) MIGHTY YOUNG JOE, (3) DAVID’S DREAM & (5) FREDDY DAY HANOVER are sharp early speed players that could be very dangerous if allowed to set a reasonable clip.

Race 8

(2) ALEX BULLVILLE faces a mostly formless group of C-1 pacers and should take command. (1) SIR CARY’S Z TAM sucked along last time but finds an easier spot tonight. (4) CITY PIE steps up off a convincing victory.

Race 9

(2) A PLACE IN HISTORY hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire this year, but draws well against a lackluster group and should have a chance to take charge. (3) BOBJACKS ANGLE A does his best work in bad fields where he can lay in the weeds and strike late. (7) WILLIE BOOTS wasn’t bad last week and gets an aggressive driver in Dube on Saturday.

Race 10

(1) CAUTION SIGNS gets an inside post once again and should be firing out from the pylons. (2) SIR MELO’S Z TAM closed well last time and should be closer to the action this week. (8) SPENDER HANOVER raced well when placed on the engine most recently.

Race 11

(6) OLDE TIME HOCKEY appears to be off form but knows how to step up in spots like this; upset chance. (1) GARNET RIVER A comes from Down Under with a hefty bankroll and qualified well enough. (3) HILARIOUS HALO took advantage of a hot pace to set a lifetime mark last Saturday; threat.

Race 12

(2) ANDWIN HANOVER has a good post and early speed to utilize. (3) GRAB YOUR KEYS comes off a nice win and could be the one to beat in here. (4) HIGHLAND TERRIFIC drops back down; dangerous.

Race 13

(2) PASS THE DECK has been racing evenly of late in what will be his final year on the track. This looks like the perfect spot to score one final Meadowlands win. (6) BOLDER hasn’t been racing that well but perhaps the soft field and addition of Dube can make a difference. (4) VISA VIPER is as good as any of the rest.
