Best Bet: CROMBIE A (2nd) Spot Play: DAYLYN HORIZON (6th) Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool Race 1 (7) CLIFTON BEACH took the worst of it after getting caught outside through a hot pace. Veteran may look to get to the front earlier here and make quick work of these. (1) ROCKIN REDFORD put in a solid closing effort from well off the action in last; inside post here should be to his advantage. (4) MASTER KINGPIN took to the big track in a good way in his local debut but loses Tetrick. Race 2 (7) CROMBIE A returns after a brief and less than exciting tour of Maine's half-mile tracks. Oldtimer has a wealth of class and seems to be in at a level where he can regain winning form. (5) NY WHITESOX found this level to his liking upon shipping south from Monticello. Trainer Lounsbury generally puts them where they can flourish. (2) STORMIN RUSTLER is nearing the end of a long and distinguished career at The Meadowlands and deserves Race 3 (4) DRUNK ON YOUR LOVE has somehow managed to free fall to this level. Last year a winner of more than a quarter million this 4-year-old has struggled with one victory to date. Expect to see a turnaround after some needed speed work at Pocono. (7) HI HO STEVERINO obviously has a ton of back class but has two wins in his last 48 starts and that's a hard obstacle to get past. (2) YANKEE HEAVEN has been in with better company and may appreciate the return to the big track and the class adjustment. Race 4 (8) IDEAL FEELING looks like a 3-year-old with a very bright future. Son of American Ideal has had limited opportunity so far but continues to improve. Trainer Mike Deters may have this one primed for a sub 1:50 Meadowlands debut. (4) ROLLINLIKETHUNDER has captured three of his four races this year for Eli Scott Jr. and returns after a brief absence off a sharp qualifier. (1) ODDS ON LAUDERDALE as a six-figure yearling would scream of high class potential but as yet the son of Western Ideal has failed to live up to expectations. Still his maiden-breaking effort last week is a good first step. Race 5 (1) MAY I CRUISE WEST is winless in 21 starts this year. While that may be hard to swallow in this group he could deserve favoritism. (3) ATLAS ALLIANCE N showed pace on two occasions two starts back and never fired off cover in last. Veteran import figures closely. (6) WOODMERE ULTIMATE has some back class and could bounce back here. Race 6 (5) DAYLYN HORIZON has missed six weeks but showed enough finishing in his qualifier to rate the choice here. When last on the scene he fit with much tougher company. (6) WHATA TWIST has been in with tougher and should find a way to be close to he action. (3) RING WARRIOR has gone winless this year but usually finds a spot on the board. Race 7 (7) BEYOND DELIGHT has dropped a few classes along the way. Son of Bettor's Delight appears to be turning the corner and may not face a field of this caliber again. (4) J K PARLAY had no chance coming off the pace in a wicked mile at Pocono in last' two back was an encouraging effort from the pocket. (3) RAINBOW ROMANCE N returns to the big track for Scott DiDomenico and has shown high speed in the stretch off cover. Race 8 (3) ROCKINWITHTHEBEST may just be lining up in the best spot in a race that is sure to have a hot pace. Caramore final has a few too many uncoupled entries for my blood but hopefully they'll fly solo. (5) BYBY LANDON has gotten his act together in a major way with three victories in the last four starts. His speed and tracking ability make him the one to beat. (1) MIKE'S POWERHOUSE was run down after controlling the pace in last week's final prelim. One of three from Vin Fusco's stable of the eight has the position edge. Race 9 (1) NOBLES FINESSE was a victim of a slow pace in last and never fired. Prior to that were two very encouraging efforts that appear to set him up for a big mile here. (7) GAMBLERS TALE hasn't shown the willingness to leave the gate from outside draws, something he was rather good at in his prime. With any kind of forward move early he's a contender. (8) ALWAYS A HOTSHOT is another that will give himself a big chance with early activity. Race 10 (6) BLOOD LINE gets the best of the draw in this handicap event. Well-bred and highly regarded 4-year-old came up a little short when put in with Filibuster Hanover last time but finds a much easier assignment here. (2) AWESOMENESS continues his slide down the class ladder and one of these days will find the winner's circle. The problem is that he's a likely low odds prospect. (1) MAROMA BEACH has raced well in stakes competition including a leg of the Graduate but finds himself outside here. Race 11 (4) MORE DRAGON has been in with much tougher competition for trainer Rick Bucci. Having missed three weeks he was obviously in need of a mile and with that should be primed here. (1) DIALMARA had little chance when compromised by the pace last time, finds a better draw against lesser company. (5) MISTER INDIANA is hard to swallow as a top pick since he has failed to win often while in position; drops to a competitive level.
